The National Weather Service has issued the following for Rockland County:
WINTER STORM WARNING
*7 AM Wednesday through 7 AM Thursday
*Travel conditions will deteriorate beginning Wednesday morning. If possible I advise you leave today to avoid the messy and hazardous roads, but if you must leave tomorrow for your Thanksgiving travels, please leave as early as possible. Around here, roads will begin to get bad by late morning, and will become difficult to drive on by later in the afternoon. During the evening, travel is not advised.
*Precip may begin as a mix during the morning hours on Wednesday, followed by a transition to snow or mostly snow by the early afternoon. The snow may fall heavily at times. It will continue through the evening hours, into the first part of the overnight. Fortunately, the storm will be out of here by Thanksgiving morning, and the Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade looks fine!
*Below is my snowfall map. I am a bit lower than the National Weather Service, but that is because I am being more cautious in case the mixing holds up longer than anticipated. Please look at the entire range of numbers, and not just the highest number.
Stay tuned and be safe!
